\u201eBel\u00e4chelnswert\u201c seien die Ergebnisse, sie \u201ek\u00f6nnten nicht ernstgenommen werden\u201c. Mit diesen Worten reagierte die franz\u00f6sische Presse auf das Ereignis,\u00a0nachdem sie den Ausgang nicht mehr totschweigen konnte. Es ist zweifelsohne die weltweit wichtigste Weinverkostung, welche am 24. Mai 1976 im Pariser InterContinental Hotel\u00a0stattgefunden hat und als Judgement of Paris<\/strong> in der Weingeschichte Einzug gehalten hat. Erstmals wurde die scheinbar in Stein gemei\u00dfelte Wahrheit, das Frankreich absolut und f\u00fcr immer die besten Weine der Welt mache, ernsthaft in Frage gestellt.<\/p>\n

„Ridicoli“ sono i risultati e \u00a0„non possono venir presi in seria considerazione“. Con queste parole reagiva la stampa francese all’evento, quando non riusc\u00ec pi\u00f9 a tacere i risultati. \u00c8 senza dubbio la degustazione pi\u00f9 importante a livello mondiale, che si \u00e8 svolta il 24 maggio 1976 al\u00a0InterContinental Hotel di Parigi e che con il nome di\u00a0Judgement of Paris<\/strong>\u00a0\u00e8 diventata parte dei libri di storia del vino. Per la prima volta si \u00e8 messo in discussione l’apparentemente eterno primato francese di produttore migliore di vino al mondo.<\/em><\/p>\n

Sei es bei den Wei\u00df- wie auch bei den Rotweinen waren die Sieger dieses Frankreich-USA-Vergleichs jeweils kalifornische Produkte: Chateau Montelena Winery 1973 setze sich gegen Meursault Charmes Roulot 1973 bei den Chardonnays durch, Stag\u2019s Leap Wine Cellars 1973 verwies Ch\u00e2teau Mouton-Rothschild 1970 auf den zweiten Platz (haupts\u00e4chlich Cabernets). Dabei hat der geb\u00fcrtige Brite Steven Spurrier, als er diesen Vergleich organisierte, in seinen eigenen Teller gespuckt, hatte er doch in Paris ein Gesch\u00e4ft, das sich ausschlie\u00dflich dem Verkauf von franz\u00f6sischen Weinen widmete. Neun, mit einer Ausnahme franz\u00f6sische Koster bewerteten, nat\u00fcrlich blind, jeweils zehn Weine mit Hilfe einer 20-Punkte-Skala. Sia per i vini bianchi che per quelli rossi come vincitori di questo confronto franco-statunitense sono usciti quei d’oltreoceano:\u00a0Chateau Montelena Winery 1973 si \u00e8 imposto nei confronti del Meursault Charmes Roulot 1973 per quanto riguardava gli Chardonnay, Stag\u2019s Leap Wine Cellars 1973 invece ha rimandato al secondo posto Ch\u00e2teau Mouton-Rothschild 1970 nella degustazione dei vini prevalentamente Cabernet. L’organizzatore della degustazione, il britannico\u00a0Steven Spurrier, ha agito inconsapevolmente contro i suoi interessi in quanto era un mercante di solo vini francesi a Parigi. Nove giudici, che con un’eccezione erano di origine francese, hanno valutato ovviamente alla cieca dieci vini per ogni tipologia. La scala di valutazione adottata era di venti punti. Anfangs wurde\u00a0Steven Spurrier von der franz\u00f6sischen Weinwirtschaft wegen dieses Fauxpas eine gewisse Zeit zu keiner Veranstaltung mehr eingeladen. Inzwischen berichten aber auch Medien der Grand Nation viticole neutral \u00fcber diese Kost (1<\/a>,2<\/a>). Tatsache ist, dass der H\u00f6henflug der kalifornische Weine ab diesem Zeitpunkt so richtig begonnen hat. Und auch Frankreich, so wurde immer wieder betont, hat dieses Waterloo eigentlich gut getan. Nach Jahren des Ausruhens auf den Lorbeeren mussten die Produzenten sich um eine signifikante Qualit\u00e4tssteigerung bem\u00fchen (3<\/a>). George Taber, der Time-Magazine-Journalist, welche damals als Beobachter dabei war und in seiner Zeitung als erster davon berichtete<\/a>, gab sp\u00e4ter dar\u00fcber ein Buch<\/a> heraus, filmisch wurde das Ereignis in Bottel Shock<\/a>\u00a0aufgearbeitet.<\/p>\n

Inizialmente\u00a0Steven Spurrier per colpa del suo <\/em>faux pas\u00a0non \u00e8 stato pi\u00f9 invitato dai francesi per un po‘ di tempo a manifestazioni. Oggigiorno per\u00f2 anche i media dell’hexagone raccontano i fatti in modo neutro\u00a0(1<\/a>,2<\/a>). \u00c8 comunque cosa certa, che da quel momento in poi i vini californiani hanno cominciato a decollare in un modo impressionante. Ed anche alla Francia questo Waterloo ha alla fine pi\u00f9 giovato che nuociuto. Infatti dopo anni di paralisi i produttori erano di colpo costretti ad impegnarsi per migliorare in modo significativo la qualit\u00e0\u00a0(3<\/a>).\u00a0George Taber, il giornalista del Time Magazine che allora era presente come osservatore e che ne ha parlato<\/a> per primo, ha pubblicato a proposito un\u00a0libro<\/a>, ultimamente \u00e8 stato girato anche un film,\u00a0Bottel Shock<\/a>.
\n<\/em><\/p>\n

Warum ich \u00fcber dieses Thema schreibe? Mich hat dieses Geschichte schon deshalb stark interessiert, weil diese Bewertung der prominente Beweis ist, wie entmystifiziernd Blindverkostungen sein k\u00f6nnen. Und zudem habe ich, nachdem ich das detaillierte Datenmaterial gesichtet habe, bemerkenswerte Parallelen zu den Ergebnissen von Weinkosten, welche von mir in den letzten Jahren durchgef\u00fchrt wurden, gefunden. Diese m\u00f6chte ich in den n\u00e4chsten Folgen aufarbeiten und darstellen. Auf dass man in den Ergebnisse von Weinbewertungen ihren tats\u00e4chlichen Wert \u00a0erkennt, wie schon in den vorigen Artikeln<\/a> zum Thema angerissen.<\/p>\n

Perch\u00e8 scrivo di ci\u00f2? Questa storia mi ha interessato parecchio, in quanto questo confronto \u00e8 un dimostrazione spettacolare di quanto le degustazioni alla cieca possano sfatare. Inoltre, guardandomi i risultati di base, ho trovato diverse coincidenze con i dati conseguiti nelle degustazioni organizzate da me. Queste cose le vorrei fare vedere nelle prossime puntate. Tutto ci\u00f2 con il fine che <\/em>\u00a0i risultati di degustazioni\u00a0vengano giudicati per quello che veramente sono.
